pebbled pathway

It may be weird but I want a pebbled driveway and pathway. I love them. I think they are really really gorgeous. I know they aren't to everyone's liking and they cost over a thousand dollars so you would want to love them to spend that much money on them.
Well it was something I wanted but at $1200 it clearly was not in our budget.
It didn't stop me talking about it almost on a daily basis though.
Come tax time, Matt and I went and did our taxes at the local agent. I was expecting to have to pay money as that seems to be what I have to do every friggen year, but this year was an exception. I actually received just under $1100 back.
Do you see where I am going with this?
While I was still sitting in the tax office Matt asked, what are you going to spend it on? I smiled and he knowingly laughed as he knew it would be on the driveway. So HAZAAH we are getting a pretty pebbled path.
I always remember Aunty Betty and Uncle Tom's house up top of the hill. To get there we went up their pebbled path. I guess the love of it has stuck with me since childhood.
Nowadays its called exposed aggregate. How sterile and boring does that sound. It deserves better!
I refuse to acknowledge that as its name.
Anyway, I am now left with a "first world problem".
Which type do I get?
I have narrowed it down to two possible options.
Bells Beach or Malibu Beach.
The top picture of Bells Beach is more accurate. It is really pale and lovely. And i think the light colours of the house would mean we would have a great white finish.

BUT as we were leaving the man that worked there came over to see how we were going. He suggested that maybe it is a bit too light as it will blend too much with the house instead of making it pop so he suggested Malibu Beach.
He said the dark pebbles (stones) will bring it out more.
Once again, the top picture is more accurate. I worry it might make the whole house looks too dark. But he is the expert. And it would also mean it wouldn't show up as many marks. Plus I really do want to make it a feature.

Now you see my dilema. What would you go for. Lighter to match. Darker to pop?
HELP!!

  1. I like the darker I think it does pop a bit more. You and matt will have to help us pick pavers because hallelujah we both got awesome tax returns and on our first anniversary holiday we are going to pave and start working on the backyard!
